Experience: My name is Alexandra, though I go by Xan (only my mother ever called me Alexandra regularly). My journey to becoming a counselor has taken me through a unique and varied path—I hold an associate degree in Art, a bachelor’s degree in Physics, and a master’s degree in Counseling, and I draw from all of these experiences in my work with clients. I am a licensed therapist in Oregon, Virginia, and Florida, and I am committed to following the highest ethical standards while continuing to expand my knowledge and skills in the field.
I work with adults of all ages and bring a special focus to trauma and the ways lifestyle choices—particularly nutrition and spirituality—affect mental health. My approach is collaborative and centered on helping clients discover their strengths and move toward lives filled with greater resilience, balance, and joy.

Additionally, I serve as a clinical supervisor for mental health and substance abuse counselors in North Carolina. My experience spans various areas, including working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, substance abuse, career challenges, parent-child conflicts, marital counseling, life transitions, and work-life stresses. I have a particular focus on military populations, understanding their unique psychological and familial dynamics. Furthermore, I offer parental counseling and child-rearing strategies to families in need.
