Credentials:I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

Training:I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began my work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. In 2013, I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University, where I was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, recognizing the top 10 percent of graduate students. During my studies, I was acknowledged by faculty, staff, and peers for my leadership and professionalism in the field of counseling.

Experience:In 2014, I relocated to Richmond, Virginia, where I began my career at a Community Service Board, continuing my work with children with intellectual disabilities. I also started my clinical residency at a community-based mental health agency, gaining valuable experience in providing high-quality mental health services to at-risk youth facing mental illness. My professional journey includes outpatient case management and psychotherapy, residential therapy, administrative and clinical supervision of QMHPs at community mental health agencies, and working with an elementary intervention program for Henrico County Public Schools. Additionally, I have experience in utilization management for insurance companies, focusing on the substance use population. I aspire to continue working with adolescents and adults in the private practice sector.

Desired Populations:I enjoy working with individuals of color aged 12 and up, including Christians and LGBTQ+ clients.

Treatment Modalities:I utilize various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and strength-based therapy.

Specialties/Issues Treated:I have assisted individuals and families with issues related to depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, family dynamics, military concerns, women’s issues, and trauma-related disorders.

Personal Interests, Passions, or Hobbies:I enjoy spending time with friends and family, including my two-year-old twins. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, reading, and trying out new restaurants.
