Experience

I have been licensed as a professional counselor since 2012 and have had extensive experience working with a variety of populations and modalities in various types of settings. Some of my roles have included: Providing community mental health services to uninsured clients, providing intensive in-home services to families with children at risk for out of home placement, providing medical social work and case management services to HIV+ clients, working with homeless families and transitional housing programs, coordinating community coalitions, providing outpatient therapy in a private group practice to a primary population of military spouses and children, providing confidential counseling services as an embedded counselor to active duty military service members, and most recently, beginning a private group practice employing contracted therapists to provide services to 11 states. While managing this growing business, I continue to see patients in my private practice, and offer supervision and consulting services.

Awards/Service

I completed three years of service in the National Health Service Corps, providing mental health services to underserved communities in Georgia.

Desired populations

I work completely remote and offer telehealth services to teens, adults, couples, and families in states in which I am licensed to practice. I also offer clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians in the states of North Carolina and Virginia, and business consultation to therapists interested in starting a private or group practice.

Treatment modalities

My primary treatment modalities are Experiential, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy and shadow work. I believe that learning to recognize how our thinking patterns affect our choices, and as a result our outcomes, plays a significant role in our ability to lead happy and meaningful lives. I also believe that uncovering our unconscious desires and beliefs is key to self-acceptance and the ability to get past patterns of negative behavior. I use a lot of humor, experiential behavioral experiments, and examination of attitudes, values, and beliefs to help clients live more fulfilling lives.

Specialties/ issues treated

My areas of specialty include: self confidence/worth, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, perfectionism, codependency and shadow work.

Personal interests, passions or hobbies

My passions include: travel, learning, audiobooks, art, my chihuahua, spending time with family and friends, the beach, language exchange, and karaoke.
